Many organizations use different types of management standards to better meet customer requirements, reduce unwanted variability in their business, expand into new markets and thus improve their results. Documents of this type are the ISO 55000 series for asset management. This set consists of three standards, i.e. (1) ISO 55000 - presenting general information, principles and terminology, (2) ISO 55001 - containing the requirements for an asset management system and (3) ISO 55002 - presenting guidelines to help properly implement this system.
- Master-student relationship - how to shape academic excellence, on the example of prof. Romuald Kolman
This article focuses on a fundamental issue in the context of education and research development - the master-student relationship. Referring to the centuries-old tradition of academic institutions, the essence and meaning of these relations were presented, indicating the desired features of the master as a person shaping the attitudes of his students, expected from social reasons. As an example of a master in the field of quality sciences, the figure of the late Professor Romuald Kolman and the memories of some of his pupils. Referring to the current situation in the system of higher education and science in Poland, the authors wish to draw attention to - in their opinion - definitely insufficient, or even neglected in various regulations, support for this sphere of academic activity.
- A look at quality management and its development
The study briefly presents the author's thoughts on the current state and development of the scientific discipline of qualitology, and especially applied qualitology - quality engineering, in terms of quality management. The discussed concepts were defined and their location in the structure of science was indicated. Possible directions for the development of this interesting scientific discipline have been set out.
- The importance of the relationship 'quality versus innovation', especially environment-oriented innovation
In the current approach to product quality, its various aspects become important. This is the case with the environmental aspect, which in the case of many products is even the most important. This text presents the most important determinants of this fact. It should be noted that although the quality of products, understood practically as the degree of meeting customer requirements, is addressed primarily to direct customers, it has indirect (distant) customers, i.e. stakeholders outside the circle of the direct relationship: product producer - customer user. The rations of indirect customers, that is, generally speaking, institutions that guard the rational use of environmental resources, are equally important and must be taken into account. The role of artificial intelligence in the relationship between quality and innovation is also discussed. In the final part of the text, a proposal is presented on how to take into account the environmental aspect at the design stage, i.e. where the quality of the product is shaped and where the level of environmental impact of this product is decided throughout its life cycle.
- How to understand quality - towards Quality 4.0
Comprehensively understood quality in the modern world is of strategic importance. It is a chance for the success of organizations operating in the conditions of change, uncertainty, risk, chaos and lack of business continuity. It should be effectively managed with the use of increasingly developing tools and methods within IT technology. The condition for the development and improvement of quality is access to information and knowledge as well as the will to act. At the heart of quality issues is customer care and meeting their needs. Measuring quality is a critical problem for economic and social reasons. The achievements of world and Polish quality classics are the basis for scientific research and practical solutions in the field of quality. At the same time, the pace of changes imposed by Industry 4.0 solutions forces us to look at quality issues more broadly. Solutions created as part of Revolution 4.0 force the transformation to Economy 4.0, including the need to transform to Quality 4.0 and seek opportunities for its improvement in the times of digitization and artificial intelligence. These solutions have many advantages, but they also cause fear and anxiety. Therefore, research on the concept of Quality 4.0 is becoming a necessity.
- In search of the feeling module of the quality of life
The article attempts to define and place the feeling module in the typology of quality of life. In the introductory part of the work, the universal essence of the concept of "quality of life" was defined, and then two groups of criteria and classification of this concept were distinguished, with the exposed and latent axiology, i.e. the sensory sphere (emotional and emotional). This made it possible to show the phenomenon of "losing" the emotional module (as part of the sensory sphere) in the vision of an "artificial" man (egocentric), so characteristic of the current civilization, and at the same time the possibility of finding this module in the vision of a "real" man (with revealed humanity). This successful search for the feeling module would not be possible without clearly distinguishing between the two fundamental "feeling" concepts - feelings and emotions. The three interrelated attempts made in this article to identify the emotional module of the quality of life may or may not initiate a series of works devoted to the most important components of this module in the journal "Quality Problems" .
