      Firms that employed at least 250 people on 31 December 2018, will apply the provisions of the Act on PPK from 1 July 2019. They will be the first to be required to create employee capital plans. PPK is a universal and voluntary system of long-term saving. At the same time, it is worth noting that voluntary participation in the PPK concerns employed persons. On the other hand, companies must join it compulsorily.

      An employer may request to document a criminal record from a candidate to work only if the act regulating the employment of a given category of employees includes a requirement of no criminal record at the position for which the candidate applies. The details of the criminal record can be obtained directly from the candidate for work or from the National Criminal Register.

      An employee who performs work at night is entitled to an allowance for each hour of work during the night. This allowance is set at 20% of the hourly rate resulting from the minimum remuneration for work.
