• Information and Training Symposium "Diagnostics and Repairs of Thermal-Power Devices of the Power Plant-Diagnostics supporting regulatory work and effective production of the power plant"
On October 5-6, 2017 at Hotel Angelo in Katowice, the "Pro Novum" Sp. Z oo organized by Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Techniczkowo-Technicznych took place. z o.o. XIX Information and Training Symposium "DIAGNOSTICS AND RENOVATIONS OF THERMAL AND MECHANICAL DEVICES OF THE POWER PLANT - Diagnostics supporting the prolongation of operation and flexible work of the power plant".
The symposium was organized in cooperation with the Economic Society Polish Power Plants, the Chamber of Power Industry and Environmental Protection, TAURON Wytwarzanie SA, PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA, ENERGA Elektrownie Ostrołęka SA, ENEA Wytwarzanie Sp. z o.o. and the Energy Center of the AGH University of Science and Technology. The Office of Technical Inspection once again took the Honorary Patronage of the Symposium.
  • A solution center for the energy sector as part of the education platform
The "Solution Center for the energy sector" prepared by Fluke will be available online as a collection of educational materials and advice on equipment, its applications or dealing with the most common problems related to measurements in the energy sector. Examples of topics discussed in the Fluke's "Solution Center for the Energy Sector" include: 1. How to reduce the risk level in the work environment? With the increase in the complexity of distribution systems and the added loads, the likelihood of transient overvoltages increases. Motors, capacitors and power converters, among others Frequency inverters can be the main sources of voltage surges.
  • Safety when welding fuel tanks
The article describes the hazards associated with welding fuel tanks and methods of ensuring safety in this operation. Welding of tanks is dangerous, but acceptable under appropriate precautions. The basic rule is to completely empty the tank from the combustible substance or - which is much easier - the oxidant. The inspiration to write the paper was an accident that occurred while welding the aluminum fuel tank of a Renault truck. The welder blew the tank with compressed air and started welding it. Welded with the TIG method. During the ignition of fuel vapors (diesel oil) and explosions. The tank had a size of 1.75x0.6x0.7m (volume approx. 0.8 m3). The fuel cap was probably not screwed into the filler hole during welding.
  • Small cullet, big trouble
By opting for LPG-powered vehicles, the company can expect significant savings in the long run due to the favorable prices of blue fuel. However, even the smallest cullet can result in higher costs resulting from the need for additional testing of the gas tank. LPG tanks, like most of this type of equipment are subject to technical supervision. Like any such device, it can be operated only on the basis of an admission decision issued by the competent authority. In this case, it is Transport Technical Supervision. As a rule, tanks are manufactured by companies having TDT rights, before being allowed to operate, compliance with technical documentation, tank marking and external inspection are tested. When buying a new car factory equipped with gas installations, the buyer does not have to worry about issues related to approval or other formalities regarding the release for use.
  • The influence of the recipe for the production of electrodes and powder wire on the welding technique
Very often, employees of one shipyard prefer electrodes of a particular manufacturer, while electrodes manufactured by another manufacturer are less valued. The dream of producers of welding materials is to gain the confidence of welders for their products. On the other hand, the specific welding technique used for the material produced by one company is not suitable for another, even if the material is marked in accordance with the same European standards. Achievements in the training of welders thanks to the TKS method and a logical description of welding techniques give the opportunity to correctly perform the welding process regardless of the production technology of additional materials from different manufacturers. In this article, we attempt to investigate this delicate problem. These tests will enable the sale of a complete product consisting of a welding material, a welder training system, welding process specifications (WPS) and welding equipment. Based on the achievements of chemistry and descriptive physics, the article prepared recommendations for manufacturers of additional materials that would allow them to adapt to the customs of welders in various countries, regions and industries.
