• Man, robot - two nephews. The revolution is slowly gaining momentum
Whether we like it or not - another industrial revolution is underway. It's already four o'clock. The road from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0 took humanity less than 400 years. Not much, if you consider that the steam engine was at its start, and now the baton of progress was taken over by this relay race. New production technologies have radically changed people's working conditions and lifestyles. What were the industrial revolutions and in what age are we now living? I, II, III, IV ... And the industrial revolution began at the end of the 18th century and lasted until the second half of the 19th century. The most important was the invention, or actually the improvement of the steam engine by James Watt and the mechanization of production used in the mining and textile industry. Nothing that was once made on simple looms, now thanks to mechanization could be produced eight times faster. Inventions such as the steamer or steam locomotive contributed to the even more dynamic development of civilization by enabling the transport of goods over considerable distances in a shorter time. The Second Industrial Revolution took place at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, this technological breakthrough was made possible by: invention (or rather patenting) of a light bulb by Thomas - are Alve Edison, the construction of an internal combustion engine by Rudolf Diesel, as well as the development of a method of refining oil. Coal began to lose its importance - it was displaced by easier to transport and more calorific oil. The telegraph and telephone are widely used.
  • When is the new technical testing system?
Soon, six years will pass from the publication of the European Parliament directive on periodic roadworthiness tests for motor vehicles and their trailers. In Poland, it should be in force from May 2018, but ... In mid-December 2018 it was close to introducing new rules for the operation of vehicle control stations in Poland, however, just before their adoption, the draft amendment to relevant acts was withdrawn. There are many indications that the government is returning to an unrealized idea.
  • Control of assembly welding of structures
Science is a philosophy built on engineering knowledge. "Ph dr eng." in translation from English, he is a doctor of engineering philosophy. If engineering knowledge is poor, then scientific conclusions will be at a low level. That is why Japanese print scientific knowledge differently than Japanese in Poland, and print scientific knowledge for Americans in English. Practical knowledge is usually not printed in Poland. In the article, we will compare the knowledge of Japanese and Polish professionals who conducted practical knowledge courses at Technolkonstrzebski and the Institute of Metal Joining in Krakow. We will discuss the most important points to monitor this process before welding. Welding technology and quality systems Qualified companies, despite the fact that they may have inferior welders, thanks to the preparation control, which the mid-class welder will allow to make the correct joint, are of higher quality than a craftsman. An authorized company will apply welding preparation, which allows the correct weld to be made by a middle class welder, and the craftsman's "virtuoso welder" will weld welding poorly prepared for welding, and if he has a weaker day, it will lead to failure. The "virtuoso welder" will start welding without supervision when the connector is not prepared.
  • Practical studies of polypropylene impact loss at low temperatures
The article describes the results of experimental tests for the resistance to dynamic loads of polypropylene containers at reduced temperatures. The main conclusion is that at negative temperatures the tested material is much more susceptible to dynamic damage. This should be remembered when transporting products in packaging made of this material. The inspiration to write the article was the event when during transport of semi-liquid materials containing water (acrylic plaster - water dispersion of synthetic resins with mineral fillers and pigments with a density of 1.8g / cm3, freezing point 0 ° C as for water) there was damage in winter ( cracks) packaging in the form of buckets made of polypropylene.
  • Analysis of anemological conditions and a wind turbine with a vertical axis of rotation
The study examined anemological conditions for the needs of wind microenergetics. The production capacity for electricity production of the wind farm in Elbląg was determined. A study of electricity production by a wind turbine was carried out. Theoretical calculations of electricity production were made in relation to research conditions (wind vector speed and location). The causes of very low electricity production by a vertical turbine axis of rotation were determined and the investor's losses due to lack of its production were estimated.
