Amendment to PN-EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018-02 - who, when and from what should start implementing it. On February 6, 2018, the Polish Committee for Standardization incorporated the norm in the collection of Polish standards, publishing its Polish equivalent. The amendment to the standard commonly used as an accreditation requirement will apply to testing and calibration laboratories operating in Poland, but also those operating in the EU, which provide services on a daily basis in almost all sectors of the economy and life. These laboratories, in accordance with the resolutions of EA and ILAC for laboratory accreditation in Europe and the world, will have to adapt their management systems to the requirements of the revised ISO / IEC 17025 and be assessed by the accreditation body within three years of its publication in in the original language.
  • Investigation of sludge volume in oil reservoirs using AE technique and thermography (16)
During the storage of crude oil, especially in large storage tanks, high molecular weight organic molecules (eg paraffin), solid particles (sand, silt, corrosion products) as well as water are deposited on the bottom of the plant. After a certain period of tank exploitation, these particles accumulate, create a sediment (sediments), which causes, among others, reduction of storage capacity. The high hydrocarbon components are still a valuable raw material, and the appropriate recovery method allows their further use in refining processes.
  • Forklifts with motor drive - changes in regulations (20)
Motorized road-roller trucks belong to the group of handling devices that are designed to carry out specific activities related to the movement of loads, most often placed on pallets, thus constitute the basic means of internal transport. A characteristic feature of forklift trucks is their range of work, usually limited to the area of a given plant, construction site or other workplace. The specificity of storing and moving loads in a given workplace often varies greatly, hence there are many construction solutions for prams on the market that are designed to perform specific tasks related to the movement of cargo. In the group of power-driven trucks, a significant group is the forklift truck, designed for lifting, palletising, stacking or stacking, eg in the bookshelves' slots for specific loads.
  • PROMAG SA offers and promotes logistics solutions 4.0 (24)
Digital transformation, which in not so old times was the subject of science fiction movies, has become a reality. While digitization has already begun some time ago, logistics is currently facing the challenge of revolution 4.0. Digitization and related technologies, such as automation, robotics, internet of things combined with artificial intelligence, expanded reality, work in the cloud and big data, will soon change our world, both business and social.
  • Technical equipment on construction sites - operational safety (27)
Technical progress in construction connected with the use of new building materials and structures enforces the use of technical devices. No construction carried out, that is all activities aimed at the construction of buildings, nowadays can not do without the use of technical equipment. The use of stationary, portable and handheld devices is treated as a standard, something obvious, and their absence is perceived as an anachronism. This allows you to speed up the work, makes it easier and reduces the inconvenience of the activities performed, quite often their lack prevents advanced work on the construction site. However, it is not obvious for everyone that at the same time a significant risk factor is introduced due to the temporary nature of the installation of used technical devices.
  • Emergency release of lift passengers (31)
Aspects relating to the emergency release of passenger cabin cabins should be included in the operating instructions for each passenger lift (lift). Relevant instructions describing the emergency release procedure are also placed at the crane installation site, i.e. in the engine room or crane control cabinet. The information contained in these instructions should indicate what conditions must be met in order to be able to safely proceed with the emergency release. There should be a minimum number of people necessary to carry out these activities and the measures to be taken to bring the cabin to a stop. These can be mechanical or electrical means that enable, for example, the brakes of the power unit to be released and allow the controlled movement of the cabin to a stop using the force of gravity.
